About us
House of Kapittha is dedicated to promoting the rich and vast natural crafts and techniques of Indian textile artistry. We specialize in sourcing natural textiles such as cotton and silk, and partnering with artisans across India to create unique, contemporary, and timeless designs. We use traditional handloom techniques, ensuring each piece is handcrafted with the highest quality. Our commitment to authenticity is absolute: our products are sourced directly from Geographical Indication (GI) certified regions.
We believe that when you drape a saree, you are not just wearing a piece of fabric; you are embracing a legacy woven over countless generations, connecting you to the artisan and the art itself. Every piece in our collection is chosen not just for its beauty, but for the story it tells and the craft it represents.
This profound connection to tradition and the rich diversity of Indian artistry is what gave birth to House of Kapittha. We genuinely believe there is no better medium to showcase the different, unparalleled textile crafts found across India than through a piece of clothing that can be passed on through generations. When you wear our textiles, you become part of the same common history. Our dedication to heritage is personal, flowing directly from our own journey and culminating in a focused mission: to sustain ancestral techniques while creating designs that possess the distinct taste of the new age.
Founder’s Journey
The foundation of House of Kapittha is built upon the founder's deep-rooted passion for arts and crafts of India and extensive experience across the fashion industry. With nine years spent in the fashion industry, the founder's career transitioned into an intensive three-year exploration of different art and craft clusters across India. Immersing herself in communities like Chanderi, Sambalpur, Mangalgiri, Varanasi, Pipili, Cuttack Tarakasi, Bagru and many more, she recognized the immense value of India's textile heritage and the need for making these art forms truly international.
Inspired by her early years spent in rural areas, among tribal cultures and exploring different arts, the dream began to take shape: to make these exquisite arts and products accessible to everyone while strengthening the artisan community. The subsequent years of exploring and living in various cities and towns only served to reinforce this commitment, pulling her back to the cultural roots and spurring the necessary step to found House of Kapittha.
