'Lahar' ko odh, samundar hokar toh dekh.
Kinaaron ki zid chhod, zara beh kar toh dekh,

Jo dhaage bandhe thay karghe ki khamoshi mein,
Aaj unmein machalti hui ek rawani hokar toh dekh.

Yeh libaas nahi, paani ka sparsh hai,
Apni har chaal ko, ek behti kahaani hokar toh dekh.

For House of Kapittha’s Spring ’26 collection, we looked to the sea. We wanted to capture not just the image of a wave, but its spirit: its fluid courage, its refusal to stand still, and its absolute, ethereal elegance.

A 'Lahar' (wave) is the ultimate expression of flow. It spends no time resisting; it simply moves. In creating this collection, we sought a textile that could translate this philosophy into reality. The threads that were once still and quiet in the workshop had to become rawani—a playful, unstoppable force.

The Hands Behind the Tide

Every piece in the Lahar collection is a testament to the master artisans of Chanderi. The rhythmic clack of the traditional handloom is where our vision of the sea meets generations of artisanal heritage. We honor their profound skill by sourcing directly from Geographical Indication (GI) certified region.

The Coastal Encounter:

We took 'Lahar' back to its source for this campaign—the vast blue horizon and the golden sands. Against the interface of land and water, the sarees transformed from a simple garment into paani ka sparsh (the touch of water). Moving fluidly as you walk, run, or simply breathe, they turn every gesture into a flowing story.

For Spring '26, we invite you to relinquish the shore. Step away from the stillness of the coast and step into the rhythm of the tide.

Become the wave.

The Deep Current: Pure Silk

For moments that demand a richer resonance, the collection embraces the liquid grace of pure fine silk. Handwoven with artisanal devotion, this pure silk drapes exactly like water. It offers a deep, opulent luster that mirrors the ocean under a twilight sky, yet remains completely true to the collection's spirit—fluid, weightless, and moving with a quiet, undeniable elegance.

Woven for the Wind: Breathable Silk-Cotton

If our pure silk is the profound, unbroken current beneath, our cotton-silk blend is the playful, sunlit surface of the sea. We chose an artisanal blend of handloom cotton and silk. The silk provides a soft, luminous luster catching the golden light of the sun on a wave. The cotton provides the breathable, airy structure that ensures the saree is light, cool, and comfortable against your skin.
